FINAL SHOWCASE - Sat Sept 3 Octagon Theatre UWA

To enter AmpFest you need to be an original, unsigned West Australian band, duo or solo artist. The majority of band members must be between 12 and 25 years old. Band members under the age of 18 must have parental/guardian consent to be involved in the competition.

Bands that have competed in the Final for previous years are not eligible to compete in AmpFest 2011.

In addition to the Application forms you will need to send in:

  • $20 Registration Fee
  • A demo CD recording of your work, including 2 or 3 original songs together with song titles and lyrics (please ensure the CD is adequately labeled and packaged for postage and note that recordings on mediums other than CD will not be accepted).
  • Band Biographies - A full biography (up to 1 A4 page maximum) detailing number of band members, instruments used, musical genre, how long the band has been together and performance history.
  • An abridged biography (40 word maximum, if your band is selected this will be printed in promotion of the event).
  • A photo of the band.

Huge Prize Pool

The prize pool for AmpFest 2011 is HUGE with over $10,000 worth of prizes distributed to the top 4 acts!

First Prize wins:

  • 6 days pre-production recording time at Soundbaker Recording Studio.
  • $1200 worth of mastering of 1 full-length CD with a professional sound engineer at Shanghai Twang Studios - Up to 13 songs
  • $500 Zenith voucher
  • $700 RTRfm Promotional Package.
  • $300 Professional Photo Shoot courtesy of WAM
Second Prize wins:
* 3 days recording and mixing time at Soundbaker Recording Studio
* $450 worth of mastering of 1 EP with a professional sound engineer at Shanghai Twang Studio - up to 5 songs.
* $400 Zenith voucher.

Third Prize wins:
* 2 days recording and mixing time at Soundbaker Recording Studio
* Mastering of 1 or 2 songs with a professional sound engineer at Shanghai Twang Studio
* $300 Zenith voucher.

Fourth Prize wins:
$300 Zenith voucher.

All participating Bands receive:

Participation in the Drug Aware Band Development Workshops with advice and tips from professionals in the music industry on topics including recording, band management and sponsorship.
