The Bullet Holes
The Bullet Holes
The Bullet Holes are a hot three-piece alternative punk rock outfit who combine irresistible, irrepressible energy with pop tenacity and their resulting live performances are pure, powerful and sure to bring a grin to every face in the room.
The Bullet Holes are from Perth, Western Australia. They formed in mid 2004 primarily as a cover band, playing many songs from some of their main influences, including The Living End, Green Day, jimmy Eat World and Relient K. The three band members – Owen (lead vox & guitar), Brad (drums & backing vox) and Sean (bass & backing vox) are 19 years old and were born in the same month, and all three contribute to the vocal parts of the band.
The trio, still playing hard in their original line up, have since turned to song-writing, and have been pumping out songs driven by catchy melodies, raw guitar riffs, crunching bass lines, and a cow bell or two. The Bullet Holes combine irresistible, irrepressible energy reminiscent of the worlds greatest punk and rockabilly bands, the pop tenacity that makes every song stick to your mind like a solicitor to and accident victim, and just the right amount of swagger to make you believe that they could take on the world and come out on top. Their songs find much strength in their simplicity, yet much excitement in the complexity of their parts which blend infectiously through compatible musicianship. The resulting live performance is pure, powerful and brings a grin to every face in the room.
The Bullet Holes have played along side some other great bands, including I Killed the Prom Queen, As A Weapon, Calerway, Heavy Weight Champ and The Colours while making the rounds of Perth’s local venues like Mojo’s, The Orient and The Newport Hotel. They recently won the Gozzy Rock - Battle of the Bands, as well as being finalists in the YAC IT UP – Battle of the Bands.
Their music, however, goes far beyond simply playing for the heck of it. The Bulllet Holes have a “mission statement†– to change the way people think, calling them to question what they are ignorant of, and to live in a higher way, with more control over their lives and their minds. This is by far the most important ideal for which the band exists – to leave an impact on people not just through the message of their music, but through they way they live their own lives. In fact, the band has agreed that if they ever become about nothing, they will disband.
