AmpFest 2010 - Plug In. Rock Out. is a chance for up and coming, young bands and solo artists to get noticed in the music industry! This pioneering youth battle of the bands will give you the opportunity to play in front of a pumping live audience, meet music industry professionals and share in a fantastic prize pool worth over $10,000!

GOODNIGHT TIGER win the AmpFest Final!

Goodnight Tiger have won the 2010 AmpFest competition!

Their prize includes the lion's share of $10 000 worth of recording time, mastering and a promotional package. The darling duo of Jill Chrisp and Perrin Date were completely stoked to be named winners and will use the prizes to further their music career.

Minute 36 came in second, Fat Jackal were third and Seams were fourth in what was an exciting and entertaining Final Showcase. All 3 runner up acts received part of the $10 000 in prizes. The Novocaines guest headlined the event and rocked the all-ages crowd. With over 60 entries and 4 live events, the AmpFest competition was hugely successful and alerted many to the talent in WA original music.

2010 Band Development Workshops

For the first time, the 2010 workshops were open to not just the bands selected for the heats, but to all AmpFest 2010 entrants.

The 2010 Drug Aware Band Development Workshops took place on 21 and 22 April at the new performance venue of the Central Institute of Technology in Leederville.

Presenters included DCA's Pete Guazzelli on the topic of funding, Matt de la Hunty on Songwriting and Arrangement, Rob Agostini on Pre-Production, Tenille Elkins on APRA and songwriting royalties, Luna Parade spoke about their past AmpFest experience and how to make the most of the 2010 competition and Scott Adam spoke on the topic of Band Management.
